DESCRIPTION
The Rodaire are basically overgrown rats with human characteristics. They have an elongated snout and sharp, yellow teeth. The creatures are covered from head to toe in coarse fur ranging from white and gray to red and brown (or any combination thereof). They generally have beady black eyes, unless they are one of the rare albino versions which have pink eyes. These humanoids stand approximately 4 feet tall, although there are a few who stand almost 6 feet tall. The Rodaire have a keen sense of smell and hearing.
COMBAT
The Rodaire will generally fight with whatever weapons they can come across although they generally prefer short swords of bone and short bows. They generally will not fight unless they have the support of a larger group of peers.
SPELL-LIKE
The few "Makers" (generally, those born with magical abilities as shown by the lack of color pigmentation) can cast spells as regular sorcerers.
SOCIETY
The Rodaire tend to live in tunnels burrowed out of the cliff walls and hillside. They generally have small, tight living quarters shared by several family members. Survival of the fittest is the motto to live by in Rodaire society. The Rodaire population is quickly becoming a problem as they are spreading from one isolated area to the next in an effort to find the resources needed for survival. As a whole, the Rodaire race is a very militaristic breed.
HISTORY
It is believed by the Rodaire themsels that the Demi-god known as "The Beast" gave rise to their race and populated the Darkwood Forest with their kind. Some Rodaire have been led to believe that the Beast had a little help in the creation process by the infamous Zindar "the Zookeeper" Rediken.
MISCELANEOUS
The 6' tall or taller Rodaire are known as the hulks and are usually in the front ranks of any milituristic venture.
