DESCRIPTION
Dokken are generally smart, overlooked little people who take advantage of their size in several fashions. They may be hidden easily, can get into smaller places than medium-size humanoids, and can often disguise themselves as children.
They stand about 3 to 3-1/2 feet tall and average around 35-40 pounds. They have tan skin and fair features (light hair and eyes). Dokken mature at the same rate as humans and live about twice as long. Their starting language includes Dokken and Common. Most dokken become either thieves or warriors but can be any other class as well.
COMBAT
Dokken generally prefer ranged combat from an area with at least partial cover. They are not cowardly, just excel at this type of fighting. They have no problems getting into hand-to-hand combat if the need arises.
EXTRAORDINARY
Dokken traits: Dokken have several beneficial traits associated with their race.
Small - Dokken get a +1 bonus to their Armor Class and Attack Rolls due to their size. They also get a +4 hide bonus but cannot use human-size weapons and can only lift/carry about 3/4 the amount that a medium-size creature can.
Fearless - +2 bonus on all saving throws vs Fear or fear-related situations.
Range - +2 racial bonus when attacking with any reanged weapons as they are taught skill with these at a very early age.
SOCIETY
Dokken tend to form small villages of their own where they end to live a simple life. Some, though, prefer to live where they can benefit from the various other races as well as their own. The entirety of a village can sustain itself without outside assistance although generally they will trade crafted weapons, leather armor, farmed vegatables, beef, mutton, sewn materials, and wooden goods.
The most popular diety of the Dokken is Strobb, the god of agriculture; the second most common diety is Hamer.
HISTORY
The Dokken were placed on Terra-Gloria by Strobb in order to provide crops and other harvested goods to the other races.
