Description

Dalehart Burfoot comes from a well-to-do halfling family in a small halfling community called Burrowtown. His father dealt in many antiquities and had a rather large assortment of magical artifacts by the time he retired and left the store to Dalehart. Being a young halfling and wanting to see a bit more of the world Dalehart sold out the shop, keeping just a couple of the magical items, and left to see the world. He left much of the money with his dissapointed family and headed west.

Unknown to Dalehart at the time was that the cloak he kept from the shop for his journeys was a magical +4 cloak of Charisma. This has worked out well for Dalehart and helped him increase his fortunes by quite an amount. The little halfling was already a very likable fellow, but the cloak really made his charm almost irresistable. He meets few strangers, and almost all who meet him feel a friendliness towards the little fellow. Over time he realized that the cloak was a boon to his personality, and he is hardly ever seen without it on. Most of the citizens of Crowley suspect that the cloak is enchanted, but very few suspect it's true potential for Dalehart.

His travels soon landed him in the town of Crowley where he purchased the Royal Arms Inn. He got a good deal on the establishment because of it's poor condition, but after a lot of work and money spent he turned it into a showplace for the town of Crowley. Many of the citizens of Crowley didn't like the little halfling purchasing the old inn, but by the time it was finished everyone was in awe of the proud halfling and his inn.

Once the inn was finished and drawing a nice income for Dalehart he began to look at expanding his wealth and helping out the community in which he lived. His attention was drawn to the Cockatrice Club which at the time was called the Minotaur Club. He began to explain to Kovak how the club could be made into another showplace and attraction for Crowley. At first the giant minotaur was unconcerned about being a showplace for Crowley, but after about a year Dalehart's charm finally wore the minotaur down and he agreed to sale partial ownership of the club to Dalehart, as long as Kovak was the primary owner. Dalehart agreed with glee and the Cockatrice Club was converted into another showplace for the town of Crowley.

Dalehart doesn't carry any weapons and hardly needs too. Everyone in Crowly likes Dalehart and most will help him out if he gets into trouble. His relationship with Kovak is usually enough of a threat to keep all of the ruffians away from him.
