The bathhouse was an idea and a dream that Dalehart Burfoot had during the restoration of the hotel. Within a year after the hotel was built the bathhouse was established, bringing more fame, and clients to the Royal Arms Inn.
The bathhouse is a luxury in Crowley. It isn’t that people don’t take baths, it is just that this is a steaming hot bath with scented waters (to the order of the clients for an added price), fresh towels, and attendants. This is used by the upper class of society and the occasional lucky adventurer. Dalehart also uses this establishment to his benefit by having a network of spying tools in each of the “private” bath areas. If one is not careful Dalehart will pick up a bit of information that the person might not want him to have. The establishment is open from 9:00am to 11:00pm.
This is a beautiful stone building with a clay tile roof. Marble columns decorate the front of the building. There is also no windows anywhere on the establishment.
The floor of the public bathing area is done in smooth river stones, highly polished and heavily grouted. There are two tables near the entryway to the water where guests can sit and talk while they dry off. This is the only bathing area where it is mandatory to wear clothing. Water steams from the large 25ft. square pool slowly drifts over it’s surface. There is also the smell of roses coming from the scented water. A vortex slowly swirls in the middle of the pool. The price of the public bath is 1gp for every 30 minutes of use. This includes the changing rooms, soap, towels, and a washrag. There are usually 1d6 patrons using this bath at any given time of day.
Taddy Brushshaker usually operates the attendant’s booth. She is quite motherly over all of the patrons and tends to coddle them, making sure that they have enough towels, soap, etc.. The booth is made to hold anyone’s valuables, for 5sp, and it also has a secret cabinet where the occupants of the private bathing areas can be spied on. The spying mechanism is quite complex. For visuals there is a complex series of mirrors running through pipes all along the walls. These pipes are made to blend in with the water pipes, but they hold nothing but mirrors. The mirrors reflect the images around bends in the pipe, and with a complex cable system the angle of the mirror in each private bathing area can be slightly altered to view the entire room. In the booth the spying mechanism looks like a chest. When the chest is open there is a mirror for each of the bathing rooms. Next to the mirror is a pipe where anyone can stick their ear to the end and hear most anything from that room with a successful listen check (DC 14). If someone is outside of the booth trying to listen in they can possibly hear the voices from the private bath on a listen check of DC 32. A curtain covers the room so that no one can see Taddy spying. She hates spying on the customers and will only do so if ordered to by her cousin, Dalehart.
These dark rooms have a mirror, a wooden bench, and two clothing hooks on each side of the mirror. Privacy is established by having a curtain over the door that can be pulled shut. It is customary to leave the curtain open when one is finished changing so that the next customer knows that the room is empty.
This basement room holds a large boiler and numerous pipes that lead to and from each of the bathing areas to constantly pump hot water to the pools. Each pool has it’s own tank so that the fragrances do not mix. The design was originally developed by Klacktoc Gearticker but is now maintenanced by his brother Wagondrafter Gearticker. The room is hot, greasy, and dirty. Once every couple of days Wagondrafter comes in to check on the system, unless he is called out for a problem, or to change fragrances in a tank.
Each of these rooms hold a small pool of swirling, heated water. Each of the baths have a different scent ranging from roses, to pine. The cost of a private bath is 5gp per every 30 minutes, and 10gp to get the fragrance of your choice (the order for a specific fragrance must be made the day before if it is not currently being used in one of the private bathing areas). The cost is high to get the fragrance changed because the old water must be pumped out and new water must be pumped in, then the fragrance added, and finally heated up to the desired temperature. If the person is not being spied upon the spot check for noticing the spying devices is DC 30. If Taddy is currently spying on the person in the room then the spot check goes down to 25 because of possible mirror movement.

Adventure Suggestions
Occasionally a client wants a scent that is not available and is very hard to come by. Dalehart could hire a group of adventurers, or herbalists to acquire the ingredients for the new scent. The pay on this is fairly low ranging from 5gp to 50gp.
Goldwood will pay anyone who captures a gorwood egg, or a gorgood larvae. He will offer 250 gp per gorwood, but he is willing to pay as much as 1000 gp per young gorwood if the players bargain correctly.NPC Listing
