Before the conquest, this establishment was owned by the ruler of the city. It was a richly decorated and elaborate mansion with almost an acre of land surrounding it. There were plush gardens, fountains, flowers, and statuary everywhere. It was the pride home of Crowley. With Crowley being the first city to fall to the god-king the house also fell, but not without a horrendous struggle. When Crowley was taken the home was left in shambles, with the heads of the ruling family hanging on the gate as a reminder.
The city grew around the home, but the home was never again occupied until Dalehart Burfoot came to town. Against the will of many of the townspeople Dalehart bought the building and started remodeling it. He spent a fortune in the structure, but when it was finished the townspeople had something that they could once again be proud of.
Dalehart’s biggest fear was the wrath of the king, but it never came. Apparently the king was no longer interested in the building or who owned it.
Finally, Dalehart began renting rooms and making his money back.
The Royal Arms Inn is the place to stay in Crowley. The rooms are expensive, but plush. Dignitaries, royal families, rich merchants, and lucky adventurers stay in this inn when they are in town, if there are any rooms available. Even the wizard Glowdwynn stays in the establishment when he is in Crowley, usually in room 9 (where he diligently studies his magic). Dalehart has made his money back on the renovations and now everything is almost pure profit.
The floor of this area is laid in polished stone that shines in the lamplight. There are tables distributed around a small pond that is full of fish from all over Teragloria. A uniformed Dokken attendant sits behind a desk where he receives guests and assists guests whenever the need arrives. The attendant is a Half-Orc named Grunk with a room that he lives in just behind the desk. Upon checking in the guest will receive a numbered room key. Grunk will usually be in the area to help guests with luggage and anything else that they might need. The rooms 5a through 5l on the second floor rent out for 15 gold pieces per night, while room 6 is available for 25 gold pieces per night. The rooms on the third floor are rented out at a whopping 50 gold pieces per night. At any given time there will be 1d6 people in the check in area.
From the check in and lounge area the building opens up to a wooded porch where tables are set up and a small pond in the center that is full of exotic fish from all around Teragloria. Plants from all over Teragloria decorate this small wooded area. Each table is separated from the other by a low hedge so that each table has a certain amount of privacy from the other tables. At any given time there will be 1d6 people enjoying themselves on the porch.
Often a half-elf druid can be seen tending to the plants. His name is Da’Leichai Goldwynne and he is a forest elf who has befriended Dalehart and willingly takes care of the plants in the Royal Arms Inn.
The lounge is a dimly lit area near a wet bar. There are 7 tables distributed around the room. It is open to the check in area and the wooded porch, where sunlight streams in to light ˝ of the bar during the daylight hours. The bar is open from 2 in the afternoon to 2 in the morning, and there will usually be 1d10 people in this area. Drinks are standard price.
This brightly lit hallway leads to all of the rooms of the second floor. There are also steps leading down to the first floor and up to the third floor. The walls are paneled in oak, and the floor is tiled in a brown diamond pattern. Wooden doors lead to each of the rooms.
These are the standard guest rooms that are rented out at 15 gold pieces per night. The walls are paneled in oak and a tiled diamond pattern covers the floor. Each of these rooms has a double bed, a chest to hold the guests baggage, a nightstand with a fresh candle on it, a writing/eating desk, and a generous pale for the guest to relieve himself in. The rooms have door locks that are keyed and a bolt on the inside that the guest can slip into place once they are in the room. The rooms are cleaned everyday between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
This fancy guest room is rented out at 25 gold pieces per night. The walls are tiled in oak and the floor is tiled in a brown diamond pattern. This room is split into 2 separate rooms, an eating/writing chamber, and a sleeping chamber. In the eating/writing chamber is a writing dest, a round table, and a patterned rug on the floor. In the sleeping chamber is a bed, a chest to hold the guest’s luggage a chamber pot, a rug, and the stone chimney from the first floor. The room has a door lock that is keyed and a bolt on the inside that the guest can slip into place once they are in the room. The room is cleaned everyday between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
This hallway holds decorative shrubs, a finely patterned rug, oak tiled walls, and a brown diamond tiled floor. The hallway makes an L shape with double doors at each end of the L. On each of the double doors is the face of a lion. Anyone opening the double doors without a key will trigger a magic mouth spell that will start screaming “Intruder! Intruder!” loud enough so that everyone in the building will be able to hear.
The terrace has a balcony with a ivy covered rail. Unfortunately, the view from the terrace isn’t too terribly grand. It overlooks the stables, and in the distance is the gypsy grounds, the lumberyard and the tannery. However, there is a nice little breakfast table. The terrace is separated from the room by panes of glass and glass doors. The doors are keyed to the same lock as the room door, with the same magic mouth spell activating if the door is open without the key while locked, or if a pane of glass is cracked or broken.
This elaborate area has oak paneled walls, a brown diamond tiled floor, bookshelves loaded with a variety of books, a writing desk, an eating table, a intricately stitched rug, and a small chest just inside of the doorway where things can be placed. The chimney from the first floor goes through this room.
Double doors lead to this room that can be locked from the inside of the sleeping chamber. The chamber has a clothing closet, a writing desk, a bookshelf, a large chest, a king-sized bed, two nightstands with fresh candles on them, and a chamber pot.
